82 Workshops in Five Years: Ani, TUMO Gyumri’s Record-holder

Five years. All three levels of 14 focus areas. Eighty-two workshops and learning labs.

If you go through Gyumrian Ani Muradyan’s “TUMOian CV,” it will seem endless. When she registered for TUMO, Ani set a goal she never shared with anyone else: completing all three levels of all 14 focus areas. And guess what? She has achieved her goal — all three levels of all 14 focus areas, for a whopping 82 workshops and learning labs in just five years.

Things didn’t come easily at the beginning. In fact, her very first memory at TUMO is “failing” a workshop.

“It was a programming workshop. I hadn’t saved my work, so I ended up submitting an empty folder and “failing” the workshop. I had to go back and retake it, but this lesson stuck with me. I knew I had to be more responsible in the future,” recalls Ani.

Like many, Ani initially assumed TUMO was a purely technical hub. However, she quickly discovered a plethora of diverse learning areas, from robotics to animation and beyond. That’s how the idea came about — to complete as many workshops and learning labs as possible. And now, she stands at the finish line of this journey.

To this day, Ani remembers AltJuly 2024, when she was enrolled in 10 learning labs simultaneously.

“Nothing will compare to the hustle and bustle of those days, when I was acquiring more skills and making more friends,” recalls Ani wistfully.

An enthusiast of both tech and design, Ani believes there is no need to limit yourself to one field. It’s simply a matter of finding the point where both of your interests intersect harmoniously, and working from there.

“For instance, in the arts and design, there is a certain freedom to create, while in tech, there is discipline. They each complement one another,” notes Ani.

These works comprise only a fraction of Ani’s portfolio, which she continues to build by not missing a single learning lab.

Ani now also serves as a mentor for TUMOians. Last AltJuly, she led a learning lab, guiding Gyumri TUMOians in making short films about the dogs of Gyumri and teaching them how to edit their work.

One of the participants in the lab was Ani’s teammate from another filmmaking learning lab, during which they produced a film which won the third place of the filmmaking category of Vahé & Lucie 2025 Awards.

Ani is currently an O phase student of T.U.M.O., which opens up a wide range of opportunities for her at TUMO, including participating in any learning lab she desires and diversifying her portfolio.

Ani envisions her future right here at TUMO. She wants to become a workshop leader to share her experience and skills with others. We can’t say for sure which focus area she will choose — Ani is at home in all 14 areas.
