Recently, TUMO CEO Marie Lou Papazian and Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) Armenia Representative Aren Deyirmenjian signed a memorandum to establish a TUMO Box in Vardenis. The Box will operate on the grounds of AMAA’s new educational complex, currently under construction and will give around 320 teens from Vardenis and nearby communities the opportunity each week to explore innovative fields in technology and design right in their hometown.

At the Vardenis TUMO Box, students will complete self-learning activities, while for workshops and labs they will travel to TUMO Dilijan using free transportation provided by TUMO. The center is already connected to TUMO Boxes in Sevan, Gavar, Chambarak, Ijevan, Azatamut, Berd, Artsvaberd, and Stepanavan.

Thanks to the support of TUMO Armenia’s partners and donors, we have already reached many communities across the country, creating life-changing learning experiences in remote and border areas such as Ashotsk, Akhuryan, Azatamut, Berd, Chambarak, Meghri, Kajaran, Shnogh, Odzun, Alaverdi, Dsegh, Vayk, Aghavnadzor, Artik, Maralik, and soon Vardenis.

The AMAA’s Educational Complex in Vardenis

AMAA’s educational complex currently under construction in Vardenis, where the TUMO Box will be located, is designed to provide broad educational, social, and healthcare opportunities for children and young people of all ages in the community. The campus will serve more than 400 children and teens, from kindergarten through 12th grade, entirely free of charge.

In addition to the TUMO Box, the campus will include a day center for vulnerable school-aged children and their families. The center will offer social and psychological support, art therapy, personal development programs, parenting skills workshops, and recreational activities. The campus will also feature a school-based health center that will provide free, high-quality medical care.
