In this level, students are introduced to the basics of photography and learn to use a DSLR photo camera. This includes understanding important elements such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO and exposure.
During this level, teens learn elements of composition as well as editing skills using the Adobe Lightroom software.
In the final level of the photography workshops, teens complete a photo story series on the subject of their choosing. Teens pick the topic within the first week and spend the following three weeks photographing the story. At every workshop session, the participants are expected to present new photographs, and with the guidance of the instructor and input of fellow classmates, discuss the progress of their story and hold editing and selection sessions.
