On December 1, 2023, Armenia made history by launching its first domestically built satellite into orbit. It was a monumental achievement for our country—and a proud moment for everyone at TUMO—because one of the brilliant minds behind the mission was someone we’ve known since he was 12: TUMO alumnus Vrezh Mikayelyan.

“Everything I’ve accomplished began right here at TUMO,” says Vrezh, now a software engineer who first walked into our center bursting with curiosity and a hunger to learn.

From day one, he dove head‑first into TUMO’s learning areas and quickly discovered a passion for robotics and engineering. As he once told us, “I see engineering as an art. You’re like a god—you can create whatever you want.”

That spark never faded. Over the years, Vrezh turned his passion into real-world impact—and ultimately into technology that now orbits the Earth.
