“American Splendor” is a biographical comedy about Harvey Pekar, the author of the American Splendor comic book series. The film recounts how Pekar, a hospital clerk, meets Robert Crumb at a garage sale in Cleveland, Ohio. Years later, Crumb becomes a famous comic artist inspired by Pekar’s series, “American Splendor.”
This Friday, the comics theme continues at TUMO Yerevan with the screening of “American Splendor,” which won the FIPRESCI critics award at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.
The film will be shown in English with English subtitles, and is free and open to viewers over the age f 16.
