If someone approaches you on the streets of Stepanakert with a big smile, a flyer, and a lot to say about films, chances are you’re face to face with TUMO volunteer Artyom Abrahamyan.

Artyom was 11-years-old when TUMO Stepanakert opened and he was disappointed about having to wait a year to join. “I remember my first workshop at TUMO. I was the only boy in my creative writing workshop. It went well. Once, I even had the chance to share my writing with Swedish MP Lars Adaktusson during his visit to TUMO Stepanakert,” said Artyom.

So far, he’s already completed workshops in creative writing, graphic design and game development. Next up are photography and new media. It’s possible, he says, that his future profession will be linked to one of these disciplines.

Artyom is also one of the travelling faces from TUMO Stepanakert. He was part of Narek Matevosyan’s poster design lab, in which students created posters with pictures of themselves and local sayings that have been hung on buses across the city. “My neighborhood friends make jokes about seeing my face everywhere, including when they take out the trash,” said Artyom. His family already knows that if he isn’t home, they should look for him at TUMO.

Artyom is a sleepwalker. Sometimes, his dreams land him in his neighbor’s house.
